Key Responsibilities

• Perform gas cutting and grinding operations on metal components and structures.
• Cut plates, pipes, structural members, and other materials as per requirements.
• Perform grinding, edge preparation, beveling, and surface finishing.
• Assist fitters, welders, fabricators, and maintenance teams during project activities.
• Prepare components for welding, fabrication, installation, and repair.
• Operate gas cutting equipment, grinders, and related tools safely.
• Inspect cutting and grinding equipment before use.
• Ensure correct handling and storage of gas cylinders, hoses, regulators, and tools.
• Follow hot-work permit procedures and site safety requirements.
• Use appropriate PPE and maintain a safe working area.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the work location.
• Report damaged tools, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned tasks within project schedules and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

• ITI / relevant technical trade qualification preferred.
• Practical experience in gas cutting and grinding work.
• Knowledge of gas cutting equipment, grinding machines, and hand tools.
• Ability to understand basic measurements and work instructions.
• Good awareness of industrial safety and hot-work procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in thermal power plants, steel plants, EPC projects, fabrication, or industrial maintenance.
• Experience working during plant shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of structural fabrication and mechanical maintenance will be an advantage.
